KJCCC West Player of the Week: Riley Silva – Barton Community College
After being held hitless in the opening game of the week, Barton outfielder Riley Silva went on a tear to help the Cougars to a 5-1 week and fourth straight conference series victory taking three of four from Seward County. Silva was 12 for 21 on the week (.571) producing six extra-base hits and driving in 10 RBIs switching between the leadoff and second slot in the lineup. The sophomore was a Saints killer opening the four-game set 10 of 12 at the plate before finishing the weekend 11 of 17 with a .647 average driving in eight and legging out four doubles and a triple highlighted behind a 5 for 5 performance in the third game of the series. 

KJCCC West Pitcher of the Week: Reece Hemmerling – Barton Community College
Reece Hemmerling turned in his best performance of the season Saturday helping 9th ranked Barton to a series clinching 6-0 victory at Seward. Improving to 5-0 on the season, Hemmerling tossed a pair of collegiate bests working seven-innings for the first time in his career and striking out nine Saints surpassing his prior best of seven done a trio of times. Allowing a first inning walk and two hits on a second inning single and third inning double, the freshman righty was sensational over the final four innings dealing with just two other base runners.
