Hector Candelas batted .550 for the week, totaling 12 runs scored and 11 RBI. The Blue Devils went 4-1 on the week, which included three wins against Coffeyville. Candelas is ranked first in the conference with a .462 batting average and 11th in the nation. He also has 50 RBI on the season to rank fifth in the KJCCC.
KJCCC East Pitcher of the Week: Cole Koonce – Johnson County Community College
Johnson County sophomore right-hander Cole Koonce improved to 9-1 on the season with a victory at Neosho County last week. He struck out 10 batters over his six innings on the bump. It was his second straight multiple strikeout game and third of the season. His nine wins lead the conference, and he ranks seventh in strikeouts (64).
