KJCCC East Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, Week 7

KJCCC East Player of the Week: Dagen Brewer – Johnson County Community College 
Johnson County sophomore designated hitter Dagen Brewer had an amazing series against Fort Scott last week highlighted by a record setting performance to open the series. Brewer set single-game records with four home runs and nine RBI to power the Cavaliers to a 15-6 victory in the series opener. He also had a single to give him five hits which tied JCCC game record. He homered in the first, second, sixth and seventh innings highlighted by a grand slam in the top of the first. He had a solo shot in the second, and two-run blasts in the sixth and seventh. In the third game against the Greyhounds, Brewer went 3-for-4 with a double, home run, three runs and three RBI. For the series hit .714 (10-for-14) with a double, five homers, eight runs, three walks and 14 RBI. For the season, he leads the conference in batting average (.495), hits (45), doubles (12), RBI (48), extra base hits (26) and total bases (98). He is second in home runs (13) and slugging percentage (1.077). Nationally he ranks seventh in average, fifth in hits, seventh in doubles, third in home runs, first in RBI, third in slug, first in extra base hits and total bases.

KJCCC East Pitcher of the Week: Aaron Lewis – Kansas City Kansas Community College
Kansas City Kansas sophomore right-hander Aaron Lewis threw a complete game against Coffeyville and didn't let up a single run. Lewis only let up 3 hits, struck out 9 Red Ravens and didn't walk a single batter.  The game ended in the 5th innings due to the impressive outing from the Karney, Mo native.
