KJCCC West Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, Week 7

KJCCC West Player of the Week: Jaron Cotton – Barton Community College
Jaron Cotton hit two home runs, including the go-ahead blast in the series finale at Colby to lead Barton to a four-game sweep of Trojans and perfect 5-0 week. The sophomore shortstop recorded a hit in all five games with five of the nine for extra bases and driving in nine RBIs to finish with a .500 average and 1.050 slugging percentage. Holding a .560 on-base percentage, Cotton was a threat on the bases swiping three bags and scoring seven runs.  

KJCCC West Pitcher of the Week: Bradley Neill – Hutchinson Community College
Blue Dragon sophomore starter Bradley Neill came up with a huge performance when the Blue Dragons needed it with a one-hit complete-game shutout of the Butler Grizzlies on Saturday at Hobart-Detter Field. The Blue Dragons won the game 14-0 in seven inning. Neill retired the first 13 batters he faces before allowing a one-out single in the fifth. That baserunner was immediately erased on a line-drive double play. Neill needed 89 pitches in the complete-game performance. He allowed only two baserunners, hitting a battler. Neill struck out a career-high eight batters.
