KJCCC East Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, Week 9

KJCCC East Player of the Week: Cal Kilgore – Johnson County Community College 
Johnson County sophomore catcher Cal Kilgore was a one-make wrecking crew in the Cavaliers' four-game sweep over Highland last week, particularly in the final two games. Kilgore hit .692 (9-for-13) with two doubles, three home runs, six runs scored, three walks, two stolen bases and 11 RBI. In the final two games he was 5-for-7 with a double, three homers and nine RBI. In the opener on Saturday, Kilgore belted a pair of two-run homer, on the third and one in the fifth. In the final game, he ripped a two-run double in the sixth and had a three-run blast to right field in the seventh to pace the offense. 

KJCCC East Pitcher of the Week: Josiah Golden – Johnson County Community College
Johnson County right-hand pitcher Josiah Golden tossed six strong innings at Highland on Saturday to improve his record to 6-0 on the season. The freshman right-hander scattered four hits, walked one and struck out seven batters in a 14-0 victory. His six wins ranked tied for third in the conference. He also has 50 strikeouts on the year which rank sixth.
