After giving up a touchdown to Ellsworth, Rodney Murphy took the next kickoff 97 yards to the house to extend the Dodge City lead, helping the Conquistadors get the 36-30 win.

Sophomore linebacker Guy Victoria made critical play after critical play to help the Hutchinson Blue Dragons upend defending national champion and No. 11-ranked Garden City on the road 31-28 Saturday night. Victoria had eight total tackles, including five solo stops. He had one quarterback sack. Perhaps the biggest play was an interception in the fourth quarter that helped set up a huge 27-yard field goal that gave the Dragons a 31-21 lead at that point in the game. That field goal proved to be the difference in the game.

Kevon Abrams compiled 178 yards of total offense for Butler and scored two touchdowns as the Grizzlies beat No. 4 Iowa Western 21-19 at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex. Abrams ran 27 times for 159 yards, with a 54-yard touchdown that would prove to be the game-winning score early in the third quarter. Abrams also caught three passes for 19 yards, including a 17-yard reception for Butler's first score. He averaged 5.9 yards per touch.
