Freshman cornerback Jerry Jacobs made some significant plays in a defensive-dominated 13-20 double-overtime win for the Blue Dragons over Highland on Saturday. Jacobs had two tackles, an interception and five passes broken up as Hutchinson's defense held Highland to just 23 yards and three first downs through the first three quarters. Jacobs' five passes broken up were a season high with 4 of those 5 breakups coming on third down.
Gerrit Prince caught five passes for 76 yards and a touchdown in Butler's 24-10 win over #15 Dodge City. He caught what would prove to be the game-winning score on an 8-yard pass late in the third quarter. The biggest play may have been a 32-yard reception in the fourth quarter on 2nd and 17 to extend a scoring drive.
