KJCCC Kansas MTXE Football Athletes of the Week, Week 7, 2017
Rakeem Boyd, Independence, for the second game in a row showed off his great athletic skill set. Before the end of the half he broke for a 98-yard touchdown run. He continued to run the ball throughout the second half to accumulate a total of 242 yards and 4 touchdowns. Boyd rushed for a touchdown to win the triple overtime game versus Ellsworth IA.
Will Honas set the tone for Butler defense in its finest performance of the season. He was in on 15 tackles – eight of which were solo stops. He also had an interception returned for 37 yards, a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss. He also made a crushing hit on a receiver on a crucial fourth-down stop in the fourth quarter as Butler's defense shut out the Scotties.
