KJCCC Kansas MTXE Football Athletes of the Week, Week 8, 2017

Triston Bailey, Coffeyville, was a perfect 3/3 on field goals, drilling a 36 yard FG into the wind.  Bailey also added 7 kickoffs for 437 yards; a 62.4 average, and 3 touchbacks. 

CJ Sims, Butler, returned a punt for a touchdown in the second quarter against Air Force Prep, going 66 yards up the near sideline to score. 

Linebacker Hassan Belton led Butler with nine tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries for Butler in a 54-7 win over Air Force Prep. The Grizzlies held the Huskies to less than 100 yards of total offense in the game.

Sophomore quarterback Caden Walters led the Dodge City offense on Saturday, throwing for 239 on 13 completions while throwing for five touchdowns, setting a new Dodge City Community College record for passing touchdowns in a game. The former record was set by Deondre Ford in 2014. Two of those five touchdowns were at least 50 yards, connecting with Tyler Minor for 66 yards and AJ Morton for 50 yards. Along with a great day in the air, Walters was also able to collect 17 yards on the ground with a long of 12 yards.
