DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Donnell Lowery, Highland

Highland fell 34-7 to No. 3 Iowa Western in the regular season finale but sophomore Highland linebacker Donnell Lowery had a strong game in the loss. Lowery helped the Scottie defense hold Iowa Western under 300 yards of total offense and he recorded nine tackles and hauled in two interceptions. Lowery has registered 94 tackles this season to lead the team and averages 9.4 per game; his 94 tackles are good for sixth most in a single season in school history. He's added 5.5 sacks, 10.5 tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, forced fumble, three interceptions and a blocked kick.

 

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
RYAN SCHEMTOB, Highland

Highland freshman licker/pinter Ryan Schemtob played a big role on special teams in a 34-7 loss to No. 3 Iowa Center as he was 1-1 on extra points, did the kickoff duties averaging 55 yards and also punted in the contest punting four times. On the season Schemtob is 12-17 kicking field goals with the three longest field goals in school history including a 54-yard field goal earlier this season. He also is 26-28 on extra points and carries a 58.2 average on kickoffs this season.
