PIRATE, SCOTTIE PLAYERS ARE WEEK 9 FOOTBALL HONOREES

Independence Community College's Nathaniel Dell and Jalin Troutman were named the KJCCC Football Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for Week 9. Highland linebacker Johnathan Butler was the league's Defensive Player of the Week

OFFENSE - Nathaniel Dell, Independence
Averaging 41.2 yards per reception, Independnece receiver Nathaniel Dell had a huge game against Coffeyville in the annual Montgomery County battle. Dell caught five passes for 216 yards with two touchdowns. One reception was an 84-yard catch for a score.

DEFENSE - Johnathan Butler, Butler
Lineacker Johnathan Butler had another spectacular game for the Scottie defense, albeit in a 33-7 loss to No. 10 Garden City, as he recorded 19 tackles with 16 being solo tackles and added a sack, a forced fumble and fumble recovery. On the season Butler is averaging 10.7 tackles per game and has amassed 75 total tackles adding two sacks, 6.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and pass breakup.

SPECIAL TEAMS - Jalin Troutman, Independence
Jalin Troutman was perfect on 10 placement kicks in Independence's 62-23 win over Coffeyville. Troutman was 8 for 8 on extra points and hit field goals of 31 and 25 yards against the Red Ravens.
