INDY, HUTCH, BUTLER PLAYERS HONORED IN WEEK 11

OFFENSE - Shermari Jones, Independence
Independnece running back Shermari Jones ran for a pair of touchdowns and averaged 8.7 yards per carry in Independence's 61-14 win over Highland. He had 87 rushing yards on 10 attempts with a long of 35 yards.

DEFENSE - Latrell Bankston, Hutchinson
Hutchinson sophomore defensive end Latrell Bankston played his most dominant game of a great sophomore season with a career-high 13 total tackles in No. 4 Hutchinson's 20-19 loss to No. 5 Garden City. Bankston lived in the Buster backfield, getting four solo stops, four tackles for one a 0.5 quarterback sacks. He disrupted the vaunted Garden City ground game, holding the Busters to 117 yards.

SPECIAL TEAMS - Taiten Winkel, Butler
Taiten Winkel, sophomore kicker/punter from Halstead, Kansas, chalked up the third longest punt this season in the NJCAA with a booming 76-yard punt that was downed at the Reivers 11-yard line in the third quarter on the road at Iowa Western Saturday afternoon. Winkle finished the day with six total punts for an average of 56 yards per punt. He had three punts over 50-yards and downed three inside the Reivers 20-yard line, one at the four and twice at the eleven. Winkel also had three kickoffs with an average of 59 yards per kickoff.
