LEIKER RETURNS TO COFFEYVILLE SIDELINE

Jeff Leiker is heading back to the sidelines at Coffeyville Community College.

Leiker will serve as the Red Ravens head football coach and athletic director.

Prior to becoming athletic director in 2007, Leiker served as the Ravens' head coach for seven years, compiling a 56-24 overall record (.700 win percentage). The Red Ravens played in six-straight bowl games from 2001 to 2006, winning three and earning their highest national ranking of No. 2 in the NJCAA poll.

The 2019 season ended at 4-7 (.364) overall.

"We've been here before. My plan is to evaluate our current program to capitalize on our strengths and identify areas of improvement," Leiker said. "Additionally, I will be working to grow and develop the relationships with local and area high school football coaches. Those coaches work with these kids on a daily basis.

"They know which ones will be a good fit for a community college program that will allow them to play ball, develop their skills, and gain a quality education that will take them to the next level."

Prior to Coffeyville, Leiker served as head football coach at Fort Hays State University from 1998 to 2000. Leiker was also an assistant coach at Missouri Western, Butler Community College, Hutchinson Community College and New Mexico State University.

He served as the head football coach at Garden City Community College where his teams earned conference championships in 1992 and 1994.

Leiker was inducted into the NJCAA Football Hall of Fame in 2010. He is also a member of the Coffeyville Lettermen's Hall of Fame. He has a BS degree from Washburn University and a MS degree from the University of Tennessee.

Jeff is married to Jennifer and the couple have a son, Ryan, and a daughter, Allison.
