KJCCC FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - WEEK 11

Players from Hutchinson and Dodge City make up the winners for Week 11 KJCCC Football Players of the Week.

After No. 1 Hutchinson's 42-8 win at Independence, quarterback Samari Collier was named the Offensive Player of the Week and K'Von Sherman was tapped as Defensive Player of the Week. Dodge City return specialist Ed Wilson had a big return day to lead the Conquistadors to a 31-10 victory over Butler.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Samari Collier, Hutchinson
This is the second time this season Collier has earned weekly offensive honors. Collier threw for four touchdowns and had 256 total yards as No. 1 Hutchinson clinched a KJCCC title with a 42-8 win over Independence on Saturday. Collier threw for touchdowns of 67, 70, 65 and 3 yards against the Pirates. He was 6 of 15 passing, but had no interceptions. Collier also ran for 36 yards on seven carries to pace the Blue Dragons.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - K'Von Edwards, Hutchinson
Blue Dragon linebacker K'Von Sherman led the Blue Dragons in tackles with seven total stop in Hutchinson's 42-8 win over Independence. Sherman had a quarterback sack for an eight-yards loss and 1.5 total tackles for loss, accounting for 11 yards.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Ed Wilson, Dodge City
Dodge City football picked up a win at home over Butler for the first time since 1995 and improved to 6-3 on the season. The Conquistadors opened the contest against Butler in an electrifying way as Edward Wilson took the opening kickoff to the house on a 97-yard kickoff return for the opening score in the Conqs win over the Grizzlies. Wilson averaged 50.3 yards per return on the day with three returns. He leads the nation in kick return average with a 33.1 yards per return average.
