KJCCC FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - WEEK 12

Players from Hutchinson and Dodge City earned Jayhawk Conference Football Player of the Week honors for the final week of the regular season.

After No. 1 Hutchinson's 42-28 victory over No. 2 Iowa Western, running back Brandon Epton Jr., was named the Offensive Player of the Week and linebacker K'Von Sherman repeated as Defensive Player of the Week. Dodge City return specialist Edward Wilson also repeated as Special Teams Player of the Week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Brandon Epton Jr., Hutchinson
Blue Dragon running back Brandon Epton Jr. ran for a career-high 122 yards and a key touchdown to help No. 1 Hutchinson defeat No. 2 Iowa Western 42-28 on Saturday at Gowans Stadium. Epton was a big part of Hutchinson's 297 total rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns against the Reivers. Tied at 21-all early in the fourth quarter, Epton found a hole on the right side and sprinted 55 yards for the go-ahead touchdown with 14:05 to play in the final quarter. Epton averaged 9.4 yards per carry.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - K'Von Sherman, Hutchinson
Blue Dragon linebacker K'Von Sherman had career highs for tackles, tackles for loss and quarterback sacks in No. 1 Hutchinson's 42-28 victory over No. 2 Iowa Western on Saturday at Gowans Stadium. Sherman had 10 total tackles. He had three tackles for loss totaling 10 yards and a career-best 2.5 sacks.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Edward Wilson, Dodge City
Dodge City football wrapped up the regular season with win over Independence to officially finish in second place in the KJCCC with a 5-1 conference record the most KJCCC wins for the Conquistadors since 2015. For the second straight week special teams came up big as Edward Wilson made it back-to-back weeks with a kickoff return touchdown this time an 88-yard return immediately following a Independence score which had given them the lead in the fourth quarter. Wilson's return gave the Conqs the lead back which they would not give up again.
