KJCCC Kansas MTXE Men's Basketball Athletes of the Week, Week 10, 2017-18
James Brooks continues to be an impact player for Pratt. The 6-2 power forward averaged a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds over three games this past week. Brooks' highlight of the week was in his play against Hutchinson CC on Jan. 24. Brooks led the Beavers with 27 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals in 38 minutes of play. In the comeback win against Cloud County CC, Brooks led the Blue and White in rebounding with 12 rebounds. He also had 13 points to complete the double-double performance.
Tyler Zinn had a big week for Fort Scott Community College. The 6-2 sophomore guard averaged 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 4.0 steals in two victories for Greyhounds. Zinn began the week by scoring 16 points in a 68-66 win over Hesston College. Zinn hit 4-of-10 shots, had a key steal in the last minute to propel the Greyhounds to a buzzer beater victory, along with three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Zinn followed that up with a career high 31 points and six rebounds in an 86-73 win over Labette, Zinn shot nine of sixteen from the field including making eight of fourteen three point attempts, while going perfect from the free throw line making five of five, with six rebounds, four assists and five steals.
