The #2 Highland men's basketball team head into the holiday break a perfect 16-0 after picking up a pair of big wins over the weekend at the JCCC Classic beating Neosho County 79-69 and #11 Southwestern 81-61. The Scotties are off their best start under Head Coach Jerre Cole at 16-0 and Taiveyhon Mason is leading the way. 

Mason continued to lead the charge for Highland as he dropped a pair of 20+ point performances last week. The sophomore tallied 23 points on 7-13 shooting including four three-pointers against Neosho County adding three rebounds, three steals and an assist. He followed that up with a 27 point showing against #11 Southwestern adding three rebounds, three steals and two assists. On the season Mason is averaging a team high 20.1 points per game on 56.8% shooting, while adding 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.8 steals per game. His two 20+ point performances at the JCCC Classic give him eight game this season with over 20 points and double figures in every game. Mason ranks second in the Nation in made Field Goals (129), tied for third in steals (44) and is tied for sixth in total points (322).
