The #6 Highland men's basketball posted a 2-0 week beating Fort Scott 76-75 on the road and avenging their lone Conference loss by topping #5 Johnson County 82-68 to move to 23-2 on the season and 5-1 in KJCCC action. Sophomore, Taiveyhon Mason helped Highland to the 2-0 week last week and it started with him matching his career high as he dropped 30 points in a tough 76-75 road win over Fort Scott. Mason shot 9-12 from the floor, 3-4 from three and 9-11 from the free throw line adding five rebounds and two assists. He and the Scotties capped the week by getting payback on Johnson County with an 82-68 win and Mason scored 21 points on 7-13 shooting going 5-6 from the charity stripe and added four rebounds, three assist and four steals.
Mason on the season is averaging 20.6 points per game on 57.1% shooting and averaging 22.2 points per game in Conference play. He's adding 3.5 rebounds, three assists and 2.5 steals per game, also.
