KJCCC Men's Division II Basketball Athlete of the Week, Week 15

Johnson County Community College sophomore forward David Turner averaged 13.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 4.7 blocks while helping JCCC secure its third conference title in four years last week. He opened the week with a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds in a 79-65 home win over Labette. He followed with 11 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in a one-point win at Hesston, and closed out the week becoming just the third player in JCCC history to record a triple double. He had 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocked shots in a 61-56 win at Kansas City Kansas Saturday afternoon.  His 10 blocks are the second-best single game effort in team history. He now has 82 blocks this season and 143 for his career. He just two blocks shy of the season record at JCCC, and nine short of the career mark. He currently ranks second in the NJCAA for total blocks.
