Johnson County sophomore guard JaQuaylon Mays averaged 13.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.7 steals and shot 57 percent from the field while leading the No. 1-ranked Cavaliers to three victories last week. Mays had 15 points, five boards, three assists and four steals in an 87-42 win over Graceland JV to open the week. On the weekend at the Highland Classic, Mays had 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals in a 92-54 win over Ottawa JV, and closed out the Classic with 15 points, five rebounds, six assists and a steal in an 81-64 win over Quakerdale Prep.
