Mavrick Gildyard was a consistent force for the Barton Cougars last week, staying on the floor for 35.5 minutes in the pair of games in averaging 21 points with 62.9 percent shooting helping Barton reach the quarterfinal round of the Region VI playoffs. 

Beginning the week with a career high twenty-five points including a perfect seven tosses from the charity stripe leading Barton to a first round win over Cloud County, Gildyard wound up his Barton career on Sunday in the quarterfinal loss to Coffeyville with a 17-point and nine-rebound effort in coming up just shy of his fourth double-double of the season.
