KJCCC DIV. I MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - WEEK 3
Independence sophomore Johan Nziemi had big week for the Pirates and claimed KJCCC Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors.
During this two-game stretch, Nziemi helped his team to a 1-1 record. With a win over Colby at home and a near upset of No. 4 Hutchinson on the road.
Johan was dominant in the paint and around the rim. He scored in numerous ways and was able to shoot a high percentage from the free throw line. Nziemi went off for 34 points on 13 of 15 shooting against Hutchinson. He also had nine rebounds. He followed that with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds against Colby.
For the season Johan is averaging 16.8 points and 8.1 rebounds.
