JCCC sophomore center Corey May, the team's leading scorer at 19.4 points per game, had another big week for the Cavaliers. On Wednesday night at Kansas City Kansas, May's line consisted of 15 points, seven rebounds and three steals. On Saturday, May powered JCCC to a 106-77 win over Neosho County, pouring in a career-best 34 points. May hit 12-of-20 shots, including 2-of-2 from 3- point range, and was 8-of-11 from the line. He also had eight rebounds and three assists.

Sophomore Michael Tyree tied the Seward County men's basketball record for three-point field goals in a single-game with eight against nationally-ranked Barton County in Great Bend, Kan. Earlier this season, Tyree set the school record with eight 3-pointers against Clarendon College (11/18/06). Tyree is leading the Region VI and is fourth in the nation in three-point buckets (65), and is shooting 44 percent from long range. Tyree is the sixth leading scorer in the Region (18.6 ppg.) and has made at least five three-pointers in seven games this season.
