Freshman guard Nafis Ricks averaged 28.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals in JCCC¹s two games last week. He shot 64 percent from the field, and 70 percent at the line. Ricks had 26 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals leading the Cavaliers to a 75-61 road win at Highland, Jan. 30. He followed with a career high 31 points, along with 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals in a near upset (72-76) over nationally ranked Independence Feb. 2. Ricks is JCCC¹s leading scorer (15.3 ppg.) and rebounder (7.7 ppg.) this season. He also ranks tied for 17th in the NJCAA with a 2.8 steals per game average.

Freshman Reggie Chamberlain shot 50 percent from the field and 46 percent from long range last week. His four 3-pointers helped give the Saints their largest conference victory of the season (38 point victory) over Colby C.C. Chamberlain finished the week with 17 points while leading the Saints to their sixth straight conference victory. The Saints' current conference winning streak is the longest in the program's history since 2001-2002.
