KJCCC Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week, Wk. 2

Gabriel Arraes accounted for half of the Cougars' goals last week helping Barton to a perfect road swing and 3-0 start to the 2018 season.  Arraes led an early two goal deficit comeback at Western Texas College last Wednesday, tying the contest with consecutive goals giving Barton a huge mental lift in the eventual overtime victory. In Saturday's game at NOC-Tonkawa, Arraes gave Barton a late first half goal to send the Cougars to the break with a 2-0 lead then demoralized the Mavericks ten minutes in the final frame for a three goal lead.  On the season Arraes is tied atop the KJCCC standings in goals (5) and points (10).

With Western Texas College hanging a pair of goals in the first three minutes of last Wednesday's game, Oliver Semmle and the Barton defense reorganized and surrendered just a late goal but came out on top in the come from behind victory in Texas.  Saturday at NOC-Tonkawa, Semmle kept the sheet clean on two attempts on frame helping Barton improved to 3-0 on the season.
