Nicolas Torres was a catalyst for the Cougars this past weekend with two goals and three assists in helping Barton to a pair of victories and the Plains District Championship.  In Friday's 4-0 victory over Western Texas College, Torres set up the eventual game winner just 6:05 into the contest before pounding the net off his own rebounded shot fourteen minutes later.  The freshman from Chile would then add his second assist ten minutes later helping Gabriel Arraes to his 19th goal of the year giving Barton a three goal edge within the game's first thirty minutes. Torres again got Barton off to a great start the following day in helping the Cougars stick 5th ranked and unbeaten Cowley College into a two goal deficit hole 12:50 into the game by scoring unassisted at the 10:43 mark before sending a through ball into Sora Wakabayashi.  Torres and the Cougars will now make their fourth national tournament appearance.

Felipe Baeza was again stellar in protecting the net for Barton's pair of wins in the Plains District Championships in helping the Cougars to their upcoming fourth national appearance. Baeza turned back five Western Texas College shots on Friday clinching the Cougars' berth then followed with surrendering just one goal against previously undefeated and 5th ranked Cowley College in a 5-1 Championship victory.  One of the nation's top goalkeepers, Baeza lowered his goals against average to .39 while improving to 14-0-1 on the season.
