Week 2 - Division I KJCCC Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week

Kimito Fritz contributed in a big way on both sides of the field for the Cougars this week. On Wednesday the sophomore helped lead a stout defensive backline to a 2-0 shutout victory at Dodge City. Trailing 1-0 late Saturday at 5th ranked Iowa Western, Fritz produced the equalizer with four minutes remaining for his first collegiate goal resulting in the 1-1 draw.

Goalkeeper: Dennis Bottcher (Barton)
Dennis Bottcher held a solid week between the pipes helping the 11th ranked Cougars to a 1-0-1 week. The sophomore net minder opened his season posting his sixth career shutout denying both shots faced in Barton's 2-0 road win at Dodge City. In Saturday's nationally ranked contest at 5th ranked Iowa Western, Bottcher and the Cougar defense overcame an early goal holding the Reivers scoreless over the final 75-minutes allowing the Barton attack to net the equalizer with four minutes to play settling for a 1-1 draw.
