Sage Harrison had a monster weekend at the plate. In the wins over Luna and El Paso, Harrison came through in clutch situations to help rally the Seward Lady Saints to wins. Down 3-1 against El Paso, Harrison homered to bring the game to one. In the final inning of the game, a leadoff home run by Harrison broke the tie to help lift the Lady Saints to a victory. Behind the plate, Harrison came away with 25 putouts in the three games played, without allowing any passed balls.
Monique Ashley had a stellar weekend in the circle for the Seward Lady Saints at the Midland College Classic. In game one, she started for the Lady Saints striking out 17 batters while pitching a complete game. The 17 strikeouts are the third most in a single-game in Seward County history. In the third game of the day, with the Lady Saints down 3-1, Ashley was put into the game in a bases-loaded situation in the 2nd inning. She got out of the inning, and helped Seward pick up the win, giving up only one more run the rest of the game.
