KJCCC Kansas MTXE D2 Softball Athletes of the Week, Week3, 2018

Allen's freshmen third baseman and catcher Sam Greninger boosted the Red Devils offense in their home opener against Southeast Community College. In game one, Greninger went 4-for-4 at the plate. She hit a double in the first, homered in the third and fourth, and doubled in the fourth, in their 18-7 victory. In game two, she went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double in the first and homer in the third, in their 17-0 victory. Greninger finished the day 6-for-8 with 3 homeruns, three doubles, seven runs scored, eight RBIs and a batting average of .750.

Sophomore starting pitcher D.J. Cannon earned her 20th career victory as a Hutchinson Blue Dragon with a complete-game performance in a 6-1 win over Barton, her only action of the week. Now 2-0 for the season, Cannon went seven innings with a season-high nine strikeouts to lead the Blue Dragons. She scattered four hits and allowed four walks, but just one unearned run.
