KJCCC Kansas MTXE D1 Softball Athletes of the Week, Week 7, 2018

Erica Vessels was incredible for the Garden City Lady Broncbusters this past week. Her first homerun of the week came in the bottom of the first inning against defending back-to-back national champions, Butler, to cut their lead 2-1. Her 1 HR, 3 Hit, and 3 RBI day helped give the Lady Busters a split over Barton. No one could silence Erica against Northwest Tech. She had 5 homeruns on the day, 4 of which gave her a 4 for 4 first game with 10 RBI's. She was just as clutch in game 2 with another 3-run home run, 2 singles, and 3 more RBI's, giving her a 7 for 8 day at the plate.

Celina Sullivan went 2-0 as Butler was undefeated on the week. She threw 3.2 innings against Garden City, allowing just one run on one hit while striking out eight batters in a 14-9 win. Then in a 15-0 home win against Barton, she went three shut-out innings, again allowing just one hit, while striking out five. For the week, she had 13 innings in 6.2 innings of work.
