KJCCC Kansas MTXE D2 Softball Athletes of the Week, Week 12, 2018

Johnson County freshman outfielder Kayla Peak had a monster week hitting .563 (9-for-16) with a triple, five home runs, 14 runs scored and 18 driven in. She began the week with five RBIs in a pair of shutout wins over Coffeyville. She followed with a four RBI game in an 18-2 blowout over Independence, and capped the week with nine RBIs in a doubleheaders sweep at Neosho County. In the first game against Neosho County, Peak drove in five runners by belting three home runs. For the season, Peak is hitting at a .450 clip.

Jordan Ummel was in the center of Cloud County's run of eight wins in its last 10 Region VI games to conclude the regular season en route to capturing a first-round home playoff series. The Cloud County ace was 3-0 on the mound and didn't allow an earned run over 20 innings of work. Ummel (9-1) struck out five in each of her three starts and lowered her ERA to 1.15 on the season; the second best mark in the KJCCC. She also helped her cause at the plate by going 13-of-28 with a home run and nine runs batted in.
