KJCCC Kansas MTXE D2 Softball Athletes of the Week, Week 12, 2018

Sophomore third baseman Kameron Pope made her final four home games count as she hit .556 for the week and reached the 100-career hit mark with the Blue Dragons. Pope also tied career highs with three hits twice and five RBIs. Pope had 10 total hits with two double, two triples and two home runs for a slugging percentage of 1.222. Her first career triple, which happened on April 24 vs. the Bethany JV, was her 100th career hit. In the first game vs. Bethany, Pope had her first career two-home run game and matched career marks with three hits and five RBIs.

Johnson County sophomore pitcher Halle Brin picked up two wins in Johnson County's sweep of Kansas City Kansas in the first round of the Region VI playoffs. In the opening game, Brin pitched a one-hit shutout over five innings and struck out nine batters. She entered the second game in relief and pitched the final 2 2/3 innings to earn the win. She allowed just two hits, an unearned run and struck out three batters in the victory.
