Johnson County sophomore designated player Kelsy Orender hit .571 (4-for-7) with a double, two home runs, two runs scored and six runs driven in a doubleheader sweep over Iowa Western last week. In the opener, she had a double and a home run to drive in a career-best five runs. In the second game she belted a solo home run, her second home run in the series. She also pitched a scoreless seventh inning to help preserve the 11-4 win.

The Highland softball team picked up four wins last week sweeping Cloud County and MCC and freshman Bailey Lacy was strong inside the circle once again for the Scotties. Lacy earned the win in game one against Cloud County tossing six innings of action giving up just two runs on six hits and striking out four, while issuing no walks. She then helped preserve the Scotties win in game two against MCC on the road tossing the final two innings for the save giving up just one unearned run on two hits and a walk, while striking three.
