Johnson County Community College freshman outfielder Emily Fox had a big two-game series at Allen Community College this past week. She hit .800 (4-for-5) with a double, two home runs, including a grand slam, and drove in eight runs. In the opening 8-0 win, she had three hits all for extra bases (one double, two home runs) and drove in seven runs. Her two-home runs and seven RBI tie the second-best single game in team history.

The No. 14-ranked Highland softball team embarked on a 10-day road trip to Alabama and Mississippi right before Spring Break and came home with a 10-4 record on the season going 8-1 in nine games on the trip. During the trip Sarah Bond was strong inside the circle going 3-0 in three starts and made two relief appearances also earning a save in the big 5-3 win over No. 6-ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast. Bond tossed 21 innings giving up just six runs on 20 hits and only two walks, while striking out nine. In her two relief appearances she helped the Scotties in big spots getting Highland out of a bases loaded jam against Carl Sandburg and recorded the final five outs for the save against Mississippi Gulf Coast. On the year Bond is 4-0 with a save in seven appearances tossing 30 1/3 innings recording a 3.46 ERA.
