2022 KJCCC Division I Softball All-Conference selections

Selected via KJCCC Coaches, post-season awards for Division I Softball have been announced.

Leading the player selections is Madi Young of Butler voted the KJCCC Most Valuable Player with Hutchinson's freshman pitcher Riley Wertz being named the Freshman of the Year.

In a battle for the top spot of the conference standings throughout the season, a pair of coaches in their 18th year at their respective college's earned the Coach of the Year.  Prevailing as the conference champion, Butler's Doug Chance was named the top coach for the 13th time while Hutchinson's Jaime Rose earns her first coaching honor leading the Blue Dragons to the league runner-up.

Butler softball shortstop Madi Young A reigning first team NJCAA All-American, Young anchored the Butler defense at shortstop while offensively leading the league with a nation's top 27 doubles on a 4th best .569 batting average and 14th best 44 stolen bases. The 5'4" sophomore from Derby, Kansas, also led the league with a nation's 14th best 44 stolen bases while finishing second in the league with 13 home runs and 63 runs batted in out of the leadoff spot of the lineup.
 Hutchinson softball pitcher Riley Wertz Earning the season's first conference pitcher of the week honor, Hutchinson's Wertz struck out the side in her collegiate debut inning and kept on fanning batters throughout her freshman campaign.  Leading the nation with 9 saves, the 5'9" Wichita native also led the league with a nation's 2nd best 12.74 strikeouts per seven innings.  Completing the season at 12-1, Wertz also led the league on a nation's 13th best 1.32 ERA in striking out a league third best 145 batters in 79.2 innings.
 Butler softball Head Coach Doug Chance Chance is no stranger to leading the Grizzlies to the top spot as Butler won their 11th consecutive Jayhawk title.  Completing the league slate at 30-2, Chance's 14th league title overall compiled a 40-2 regular season record and a No. 6 national ranking taking a 17-game win streak into post-season.
 Hutchinson softball Head Coach Jaime Rose Coach Rose's Blue Dragons handed the Grizzlies their lone two losses of the year as the two teams split their season four-game series.  Ranked No. 15 in the national poll, Rose's squad has climbed to its highest ranking since 1988 after posting a program record conference wins in placing second at 29-3 and a fifth most overall wins at 38-6 to ride a 12-game win streak into the Region VI Tournament.
