Johnson County sophomore outfielder Eve Morris had a solid week at the plate to help the No. 8-ranked Lady Cavaliers to series sweeps over Iowa Western and Barton. She batted .714 (10-for-14) with four doubles, a home run, a walk, seven runs scored and six driven in. She also stole three bases.

Kiera Brack had two complete game shutouts for Cloud County, including a one-hitter against NW KS Tech, as the T-Birds went a perfect 4-0 this past week to open up the home portion of their 2024 season. Against the Mavericks, Brack allowed just one hit to lead off the top of the second inning and had multiple strikeouts in all five innings she threw to finish with 11 K's while facing three batters over the minimum. Two days later, against Southeast CC, Brack added another seven strikeouts and threw her second shutout of the year, only allowing multiple hits in one of the five innings as the T-Birds picked up a third-straight run-rule-shortened victory. On the season, Brack has struck out 24 batters in 14.1 innings of work and held opponents to a .236 batting average.
