2024 KJCCC Softball Division I Week 9 Players of the Week

Player of the Week: Laci Dryden (Barton)

Leadoff batter Laci Dryden batted .833 with an even better .875 on-base percentage helping Barton sweep Dodge City in a pair of conference contests. Going 3-of-4 in the opener, one of Dryden's hits was the sophomore's first home runs of the season while drawing a walk to reach base five times. In the nightcap Dryden continued to set the tone for the offense in reaching base all three at-bats, drawing a walk and going 2-of-2 at the plate, and stealing three of her four bases on the afternoon.

Pitcher of the Week: Cheyenne Handsaker (Butler)

Cheyenne Handsaker earned two wins over the week as Butler defeated Garden City and Crowder College in her two starts. She tossed 12.0 innings of one run softball, striking out 14 and walking just one on the week. In a 12-0 run rule victory over Garden, Handsaker threw 3.0 shutout innings allowing one hit and striking out four. In Butler's 2-1 extra inning win over Crowder, Handsaker hurled all 9.0 innings allowing just one run, striking out 10 and walking none. Her 11 wins and 85.1 innings pitched both lead the KJCCC this season.
