The #12 Highland women's basketball team opened the season with a 2-0 start at the Allen Classic picking up a 120-58 win over Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa in the season opener and then followed that up with a 93-33 win over Calvary University.
Sophomore, Tiana Gipson the KJCCC DII "Freshman of the Year" last year started the 2019-20 season with a bang dropping 37 points against Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa on 13-22 shooting including 11 three-pointers which broke a single game school record which she tied last year with 10 in a game. Gipson added three rebounds, two assists and five steals in the win.
She followed her record performance with 12 points, two rebounds, four assists and five steals against Calvary University.
