KJCCC DI Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Week 8

Merveille Nkoyock led all scorers in Independence's 69-62 upset of nationally-ranked No. 8 Butler. Her 34 points were nearly half of the Pirates' point total. Against the Grizzlies, Merveille also shot 45% from the three-point line, knocking down 5 threes, along with grabbing 8 rebounds, one assist, and dishing 3 assists. 

In the Pirates' second conference win of the week and 10th overall win of the season, Merveille scored 19 points against Northwest Kansas Tech. She continued her dominant work on the boards, snagging another 9 rebounds, while snatching 3 steals. Against the Mavericks, Merveille also blocked 4 shots and dished out 3 assists.

For the week, Merveille shot 76% from the free-throw line, knocking down 19 total free throws, while averaging 26.5 points through two games.
