KJCCC D-II Player of the Week: Saige Grampsas – Johnson County Community College
Playing in her final regular season game at JCCC Gymnasium Johnson County Community College sophomore guard Saige Grampsas made something special out of it. Last Wednesday night, Grampsas set a program record for most 3-point field goals in a game by hitting 13, leading the No. 1-ranked JCCC women's basketball team to a 101-53 victory over Neosho County. The previous record of 12 was held by Amanda Dittmer against William Penn JV on February 8, 2009. Grampsas ended the night 13-for-19 beyond the arc, and 15-for-23 overall for 43 points, which ranks her tied fourth on JCCC's single game scoring chart. She is one of only five players in program history score 40 or more points in a game. Along with the record 13-3-point baskets, Grampsas set team records for made 3-pointers in a half and in a quarter. She hit 8-of-11 treys in the second half, with five coming in the third quarter. Grampsas' performance was no fluke either. She has been drilling triples all season and on the same night she set the game mark, she also established a new season mark. She enters postseason play with 109 made triples, four more than previous mark.
