KJCCC Office Joins Fort Hays Tech Northwest In Mourning Loss Of Tiger Wrestling Athlete Dawson Hogan
COLBY, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference joins the Fort Hays Tech Northwest community in mourning the loss of Tiger wrestling student-athlete Dawson Hogan.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic loss of one of our Electrical Technology students, Dawson Hogan, who was among those who lost their lives in the dust storm outside of Goodland on Friday” stated Fort Hays Tech Northwest President Ben Schears.
A vibrant presence on campus, Hogan was a dedicated member of the Men’s Wrestling program, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and was involved in student life events. He excelled academically, recently earning a nomination for the National Technical Honor Society. As a sophomore, he was on track to earn his Journeyman license, graduate this semester, and embark on a career in the electrical industry.
“In this extremely difficult time, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference mourns with the Fort Hays Tech Northwest community the loss of student-athlete Dawson Hogan” stated KJCCC Commissioner Mike Saddler. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Fort Hays Tech Northwest campus as well as Dawson’s family.”
