Leading their squad to a first round road upset over a ranked opponents highlight's this week's award winning performances

Johnson County sophomore Kayla Brashear scored her KJCCC leading seventh game-winning goal to propel the Lady Cavaliers to a 2-1 upset at No. 18 Cloud County Saturday in the first round of the Region VI playoffs. She scored the goal with six minutes left in regulation to earn her second player of the week award of the season. Brashear leads the team with 15 total goals scored and 34 points.

Freshman goalkeeper Olivia Ways wins her second straight and third KJCCC goalkeeper of the week award of the past four weeks by anchoring a defensive unit that held No. 18 Cloud County to just two shots on goal as the Lady Cavaliers upset the Thunderbirds 2-1 in the first round of the Region VI playoffs. Ways improved her season mark to 9-5-1. She currently ranks fourth in the conference with a GAA of 1.13 and is tied for a second-best .816 save percentage.
