Week 2 - Division I KJCCC Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week

Player: Kaitlyn Edwards (Hutchinson)
Hutchinson Community College freshman midfielder Kaitlyn Edwards posted a season-high five-point game and had her second two-goal game of the season as No. 18 Hutchinson had a 1-0-1 week last week. Following a scoreless draw against Garden City, Edwards had two goals and an assists in a 5-0 victory over Seward County. Edwards scored in the 38th minute to get the Dragons on the scoreboard and earn her first game-winning goal. Edwards was part of a dominant midfield attack that helped the Dragons maintain 95-percent possession against the Saints.

Goalkeeper: Rosa Forero Calabuig (Coffeyville)
Coffeyville freshman goalkeeper Rosa Forero Calabuig stood strong between the pipes for the Red Ravens as she saved all 10 shots-on-goal she faced from the #7 ranked Butler Grizzlies. In a 1-0 Red Raven defeat of the Grizzlies, Calabuig's first collegiate shutout was the difference.
