2023 KJCCC Women's Soccer Division I Athletes of the Week, Wk. 3

Week 3 - Division I KJCCC Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week

Player: Adriana Delgado (Hutchinson)
Hutchinson Community College sophomore Adriana Delgado posted career highs for goals and points in two-consecutive games and led the No. 16 Blue Dragons to a 3-0 week. For the week, Delgado had six goals and three assists for a 15-point week. Against Dodge City, Delgado netted the game winner, tying her career high with two goals and establishing a new career bests with two assist and six points in a 4-1 victory. Delgado reset her career highs for goals and points with four goals and nine points in a 10-0 rout of Crowder. Delgado's hat trick is the 98th in program history.

Goalkeeper: Carla Apodaca (Butler)
Carla Apodaca compiled 16 saves over the past week, during a 1-1 draw with KCK and a 4-0 victory over #5 Monroe CC. Apodaca started the week with eight saves vs KCK which included a second half 1v1 save and a back to bar save from a corner kick. Apodaca's late game heroics were enough to secure the draw vs the Blue Devils. On Sunday Apodace followed up with another eight save performance, this time vs #5 Monroe CC in a Grizzlies 4-0 victory. Carla has logged all 450 minutes for Butler while making 29 saves and has a record of 1-1-3. Apodaca and the Grizzlies are yet to be defeated by a nationally ranked opponent at the time of the match.
