2023 KJCCC Women's Soccer Division I Athletes of the Week, Wk. 7

Player: Katharina Marx (Hutchinson)

Hutchinson Community College freshman forward Katharina Marx had an eight-point week to lift the No. 13 Blue Dragons to a pair of Jayhawk Conference victories last week. In a 4-1 win over Garden City, Marx had two goals and an assist for a five-point game against the Broncbusters. At Seward County on Saturday, she had a goal and an assist. Marx for the season has 10 goals and eight assists. Marx is fifth in the KJCCC in goals scored and leads the league in assists.

Goalkeeper: Lucia Martinez Garcia (Dodge City)

Dodge City women's soccer earned their first win over KCK since 2015 and picked up a big upset win over the tenth ranked team in the nation. Lucia Martinez Garcia and the Conqs defense blanked the Blue Devils who were shutout for the first time this season. Martinez Garcia recorded 12 saves in the win with some big saves in the second half facing 19 shots with nine on goal in just the second half from KCK. She also had six saves and held #7 Barton to one goal in a tough road loss. On the season she has 56 saves with a 77.8% save percentage.
