2023 KJCCC Women's Soccer Division I Athletes of the Week, Wk. 8

Player: Aya Saiki (Barton)

Sophomore midfielder Aya Saiki produced the program's 23rd nine-point effort on Wednesday in 7th ranked Barton's lone game of the week leading the Cougars to a 7-0 conference shutout over Coffeyville. Saiki netted four on the day, three tallies and an assist in first half play leading to a 5-0 halftime advantage before scoring her fourth goal just six minutes into second half action.

Historically in the program's all-time list, Saiki's nine points moved into 14th all-time with 58 in a career while her four-goal achievement moved into the 11th all-time spot with 23 total with a now twelve assists moving into the 12th all-time slot.

Goalkeeper: Karsyn Slothower (Hutchinson)

Hutchinson freshman Karsyn Slothower posted two victories in goal for the No. 10 Blue Dragons, including a road shutout against No. 18 Butler in a 2-0 week for Hutchinson. For the week, Slothower had five saves and allowed just one goal and posted her seventh shutout of the season. After just one save against Dodge City, Slothower had a four-save performance in the shutout of Butler, the first win for Hutchinson at BG Products Stadium since 2014.
