KJCCC Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week - Outdoor Week 5

Outdoor track and field season is underway and our week five of KJCCC Athletes of the Week honors have been awarded. 

WOMEN'S TRACK Athlete of the Week
Kaylee James (Hutchinson) – She had a personal record in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.98 at the KT Woodman Classic finishing second at the meet. The time ranks #3 in the NJCAA.    

WOMEN'S FIELD Athlete of the Week
Joana Vakasobuduru (Neosho County) – She finished second in the heptathlon at the Midwest Classic hosted by Emporia State; the field was full of NCAA DII athletes. She amassed 4,251 points which ranks #5 in the NJCAA currently for the heptathlon. She would record personal record performances in the high jump (1.52m) and javelin (28.03m).
