KJCCC West VOLLEYBALL Athletes of the Week, Week 10
Giovanna Tapigliani played an instrumental role in helping Seward secure a third straight Jayhawk West title and back-to-back outright championships. She finished with 30 kills on the week, including 19 when the Lady Saints traveled to Colby to take on the 16th ranked Trojans. She finished with just six errors on the week to hit a combined .407.
Olivia Hessman has been running Pratt's 5-1 formation for several matches now. While running the offense she has also maintained her ability to score points in the way of Kills, Blocks and Aces. Looking at her numbers for the 5 set win versus Garden, she went down with an injury in the first third of the second set. Pratt had a commanding lead at the point of her injury and we not able to bring that set to an end with a win. Olivia is a definitive court presence as a team leader and point scorer for the Pratt Volleyball program.
Luz Sierra continued to be a force at the net, finishing with 6 blocks on the week. She played a major role in helping the Lady Saints secure the Jayhawk title, finishing with four blocks over Colby.
