SEWARD, COLBY PLAYERS EARN WEEK 8 KJCCC HONORS

Week 8 KJCCC DI Volleyball Players of the Week:
Player: Yanlis Feliz, Seward County
Setter: Kyndal Bacon, Colby
Defensive: Milica Djukic, Colby

Seward County outside hitter Yanlis Feliz won her fifth KJCCC Division I Volleyball Player of the Week honor after an exceptional all-around week. Colby setter Kyndal Bacon earned Setter of the Week honors for the third time. Colby middle blocker Milica Djukic earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time this season.

PLAYER - Yanlis Feliz, Seward County
Yanlis Feliz lead the No. 3 Lady Saints to a 5-0 record this past weekend that included two wins versus top 10 opponents. For the second time this season Feliz had a 21 digs which tied her career high and 19 kills in a win at Iowa Western in Council Bluffs Iowa. Feliz would follow up that performance with 16 kills, 6 blocks and 8 digs to lead the Lady Saints over formally undefeated No. 4 New Mexico Military Institute. Averaged a total of 4.8 kills a set, averaged a hitting percentage of .500, and averaged 3.88 digs a set. Feliz's kills and hitting percantages has helped the Lady Saints become first in hitting percentage and kills per set in the nation.

SETTER - Kyndal Bacon, Colby
Kyndal Bacon helped lead the Trojans through a tough week going 4-2. Bacon had 4 double-doubles last week against Independence, Northeast CC, Iowa Western and Mineral Area. She averaged 8.72 assists per set. She had her personal best of eight servive aces against Independence and seven total blocks against No. 4 New Mexico Military.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER - Milica Djukic, Colby
Milica Djukic had a stellar defensive week, helping the Trojans go 4-2, including a five-set win vs. No. 7 Iowa Western. Djukic notched 10 blocks against No. 4 New Mexico Military. She averaged 1.28 blocks per set, tallying 32 total blocks (2 solo, 30 block assists) throughout 25 sets played.
