For the third straight year the Highland volleyball team opened the season with a 4-0 performance at the Southeast Tournament and All-KJCCC returner and sophomore, Cajia Allen helped lead the way for the seventh ranked Scotties. Allen opened the season posting a double-double recording 13 kills on a .462 hitting percentage, while adding an impressive 17 digs showing her versatility in the straight win over No. 11-ranked Northeast to open the season. She put up two more performances of double figure kills at the Tournament with 10 against Hawkeye and Southeastern. Allen also registered 13 digs in the win over Southwestern. 

KJCCC Division II Volleyball Setter of the Week

Helping Highland open the season with a 4-0 performance at the Southeast Tournament, freshman Kellyn Lipasek hit the court in her first games at setter for the Scotties and performed well. Lipasek notched 30 plus assists in three of four matchups at the Southeast Tournament including a high of 37 assists in a three-set win over Hawkeye. She registered four kills in the win over Southeastern and had at least one dig in all four matchups including six digs versus Hawkeye.

Returning All-American Rylie Barnum got off to a solid start to her sophomore season registering 69 digs and a digs per set average of 4.93 while leading the No. 3 ranked Lady Cavaliers to a 3-1 mark at the Central Community College Kickoff Classic. She reached double digits in digs in all four matches. Barnum also contributed 17 assists and 11 service aces over the weekend.
